Coal Country Conservatives PAC is a grassroots effort to preserve the traditional American values of Campbell County, WY. Our volunteers and donors come from the community; we are your neighbors, co-workers and fellow church members. We are not funded by or affiliated with any political party, candidate, or special interest group.
Our goal is simple. We want to promote the election of conservative statesmen and women in Gillette, Campbell County and Wyoming because we know that good governance starts at the local level. We do this by researching the voting records of elected officials, attending forums, conducting candidate surveys, speaking with new candidates and becoming informed as citizens.
Our recommended candidates usually come from the Republican Party, but not everyone who runs as a Republican has conservative values. Our criteria is not arbitrary — we believe those who run as Republicans should follow the Wyoming Republican Party platform.
Values We Look For In Candidates
Fiscal Conservatism & Limited Government
Limited government is a core conservative Republican value — limited in power, scope, and most importantly, spending. Limited spending leads to lower taxes and more economic prosperity for the people. More spending leads to a higher tax burden and less prosperity, especially for the middle class.
We expect limited spending, lower taxes, and less government intrusion from all candidates we recommend.
Commitment to the Republican Platform
You may not know it from how so many of our Republican politicians vote, but the Republican Platform is a fantastic treatise of conservative principles in practice. Unfortunately, many Republicans in Wyoming vote more with the Democrats than they do with the actual Republican Platform.
We expect the candidates we recommend to adhere to the Republican Platform as much as possible and no less than 80% of the time.
Fighting for Coal, Oil & Gas
No politician should be elected in Campbell County who isn't willing to do everything within the power of their office to defend the industries on which our community depends to feed their families, and the tax revenue to pay for our infrastructure.
We expect pro-active, aggressive, and uncompromising support for our coal, oil & gas industries from all candidates we recommend.
Traditional Family Values
We believe the traditional family structure is the bedrock of our community and society. Parents do not share custody with the government, and their consent is mandatory in everything involving the health and education of their children. There are two biological sexes and genders, male and female. Males should not be permitted in female sports, locker rooms, or private spaces.
We expect all candidates we recommend to uphold traditional family values in whatever capacity their office allows.
Pro-Life
Life begins at conception and all lives are sacred, even if they are conceived in terrible circumstances. The only exception is when pregnancy poses a serious threat to the life of the mother. In all other cases, aborting a pregnancy is murder and any facility or organization that facilitates it should be defunded immediately.
We expect all candidates we endorse to uphold the value of life, and to defund facilities and organizations who facilitate abortions of any kind.
Pro 2A
Our right to bear arms is the final barrier to unfettered tyranny in our nation. It must be protected at all costs, and expanded where possible.
We expect all candidates we recommend to understand what “shall not be infringed” means, and to vote accordingly.
